New Yorkers Help Reduce Homelessness in New York City- Volunteer one Night only For the 9th Annual HOPE Survey 2013- January 28th, 2013

New Yorkers, gather your friends, families, neighborhood association and civic group members and volunteer for the New York City 9th Annual HOPE survey count.  On Monday, January 28, 2013,  NYC Department of Homeless Services  will conduct its annual  Homeless Outreach Population Estimate (HOPE) count. Volunteers throughout the five boroughs  are needed to help survey streets, parks, subways,  public spaces to estimate the number of people living unsheltered in NYC.  The results of these surveys are used to estimate projected funds needed to provide services to our New York City homeless population.  This survey is  a reqirement for cities using federal funds for homeless services.  It has been noted that since its inception in New York City  more than 3,500 homeless residents have been able to  secure transistional and permanent housing.  New Yorkers if you had  listed  volunteering as one of your New Years resolutions  for a worthy cause but you did not know where to begin, may I suggest that you begin with the HOPE 2013 survey , its only for one night.
